MODELS RATS-100-1-1 AND RATS3R-100-1-1 (2-WIRE CIRCUIT)
SERIES 165 RESIDENTIAL AUTOMATIC TRANSFER SWITCH

Diagnostic and Operation Panel is located on door panel.  No need to go inside "live" panel for adjustments.

Shown above is model RATS-100-1-1, SERIES 165, automatic transfer switch (ATS) 2-wire control circuit, in a NEMA-1 enclosure for inside installation.  A second model RATS3R-100-1-1  with NEMA-3R enclosure is available for outside, all weather installations.  This standard, 2-wire ATS system is an optional part for SP and SPD series, 17.5 thru 30 KW.  This ATS can not be used on any 3 phase gen-set, or any 2-pole, 3600 RPM residential standby set.

OPERATION

This ATS system includes suitable voltage sensing circuitry for automatic transfer of an "All Class" electric load to an emergency power, standby generator set, in the event of a drop, or total loss of utility power.  Upon restoration of utility power, the electric load is automatically re-transferred back to utility power.  A 120 VAC transfer solenoid, operates the lever arm, in both "STANDBY" and "MAIN" positions.  The switch is an enclosed contactor with 100 amp 240 vac rating, and is designed to provide a positive mechanical interlock between the mechanically held, electrically operated contacts, to eliminate electric vibration noise on operating position.

FEATURES AND BENEFITS

  • Lightweight approx. 67 lbs., for one person installations.

  • Diagnostic panel on front cover, allows monitoring and set-up adjustments without entering into panel interior.

  • Pre-Punched "Knock-Outs" for ready use by installing electrician.

  • Heavy duty "All Class Loads", (including heavy electric motor loads) contact rating of 100 amps, 240 VAC on both "NORMAL" and "EMERGENCY" sides.

  • Transfer switch is designed to operate manually if automatic controls mal-function.

  • Included time delays:  3 second delay to over-ride power glitches , 15 second delay to allow gen-set to stabilize , 15 second delay after transfer to generator for bypass to momentary voltage dips, during generator loading , 5 minute delay to re-transfer to utility power use , and load connected to utility.

  • Listed to UL-1008 certifications and meets National Electrical Code (NEC) and National Fire Protection Association (NFPA) requirements.

  • Total product has one year warranty on parts and labor from date of shipment to end user.

  • All 4-POLE, single phase, up to 25 kw will use the SERIES 165, model RATS-100-1-1 or RATS3R-100-1-1 residential Asco transfer switch. All other 4-pole single phase and three phase, plus 2-POLE, three phase gen-sets, will use the SERIES 300, "ATS" Industrial Asco transfer switch.
